drop off - 8:00am

On both days, the first 15 minutes will be spent out on the preschool playground, which is located to the far west side of the Midland parking lot. You may park in the parking lot right there by the playground! These first few minutes each morning will be spent all together with families and kids so you can ask any questions you have to Mrs. Shaw or Mrs. Newton, our principal, and meet some other Midland families! Then, at 8:15 your child will say "goodbye for now" to join their class to come into their Kindergarten class for the rest of the morning! How fun!

Pick up - 10:45am

On both days, at 10:45am you are welcome to come into the front doors of Midland and come down to our Kindergarten classroom so you can see what your child did that day and have some fun exploring the classroom with them! We might even show you some of the expectations and routines we learned that day! Once we are finished, you may take your child home for the day! We will do this both days!

Recess

We will go outside for recess both days so please send a light jacket if it is a cooler day! Thanks!

Kindergarten assessment

While at JumpStart, your child will given the chance to show us what they know before they start their official Kindergarten year! Your child will be asked to identify their letters and sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, count as high as they can, and write their name! We just want to get a “snapshot” of where your child is starting so we can better serve them when August 16th rolls around!

Kindergarten Spot

Find somewhere at your home that can be your child's Kindergarten Spot so they can practice putting their backpack, coat, shoes, etc. there!

Eating Lunch

Set a 20 minute timer and have your child practice eating their lunch or eating and opening food from their lunchbox!

Saying Goodbye

Have a great discussion with your child that when the Kindergarten day starts you will say good-bye but you will be back to pick them up when it's done!
